S.C. woman facing felony DUI after wrong-way crash
LANDRUM -- Authorities say a South Carolina woman who caused a fatal crash after driving the wrong way on an interstate has been charged with felony drunken driving.
Multiple media outlets reported Saturday that 33-year-old Traci Freeman of Boiling Springs has been charged with felony DUI.
Troopers say Freeman was driving west on Interstate 26 near Landrum at about 5:20 a.m. Saturday when she hit a car head-on with her minivan. Spartanburg County Coroner Rusty Clevenger says car passenger Janice Carol Williams died at a hospital about an hour later.
It was not immediately clear if Freeman had an attorney. She was at the jail Saturday waiting for a bond hearing.
Authorities say everyone involved the crash except Williams was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
