Woman facing DUI: I took pain meds before crash
GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) -- The Greenville woman charged with felony DUI after authorities say her car struck and killed a state Department of Transportation employee working under an interstate bridge says she had taken pain medication before the crash.
Misty Dawn Dawson said at a bond hearing Thursday she had taken prescription medicine for nausea and pain before leaving work and doesn't remember the wreck.
Greenville Police Sgt. Jason Rampey says 60-year-old Noah Lark was working under an Interstate 85 bridge when he was struck at around 10 a.m. Wednesday. Lark died several hours later.
Authorities say Dawson was driving the 1999 Ford that struck Lark. She was released from jail on a $25,000 bond, and it was not immediately clear if she had an attorney.
