Man racks up 6 DUI arrests in SC in a year
GREENVILLE -- Prosecutors say a Greenville County man remains out on bond despite six drunken driving arrests in northwestern South Carolina over the past year.
WYFF-TV reports (http://bit.ly/qz3QNF ) all of the charges are considered Warren Brooks' first offense because none have been resolved in court.
Solicitor Walt Wilkins calls it one of the most outrageous cases he's seen.
Brooks' first driving under the influence charge occurred in August 2010.
Brooks was set to go to trial in June on last year's charge, but by that time, Wilkins' office became aware of the other charges. He tried unsuccessfully to revoke Brooks' bond.
Brooks' lawyer Kim Varner says his life just spiraled out of control. Varner says Brooks' family took his vehicle away. Brooks also was arrested for DUI last November in Las Vegas.
