Harold L. Seigler
Mr. Harold Lewis Seigler, 82, died Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2009.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Dec. 24 at 11 a.m. in the Shellhouse Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Tom Poteat will officiate. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Seigler was born in Spartanburg, a son of the late Willie E. and Ruth Koon Seigler. He served in the Army Air Force during World War II and retired from DuPont before working for Westinghouse at the Savannah River Site. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 156 and a member of Wittenberg Lutheran Church, Leesville.
Mr. Seigler is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Betty Hayes Seigler; daughter, Paula Seigler (Toby) Beckham of Murrells Inlet; son, Ronnie Seigler of Leesville; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three sisters, Sarah (Hasting) Cato of Batesburg, Doris (Tom) Poteat of Prosperity and Evelyn Ricard of Prosperity.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Wittenberg Lutheran Church, 233 N. Lee St., Leesville, SC 29070
The family would like to thank all of the wonderful caregivers including nephew Randy Hayes, Melissa Ayers and the many, many others involved in Harold's care. The family would also like to extend many thanks to the staff of the Veteran's Administration Victory House in Walterboro for their untiring devotion to Harold's care.
