James N. King
Mr. James Norman King, 91, died Thursday, Nov. 26, 2009, at the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center.
Funeral arrangements will be announced.
Mr. King was born in Centralia, Ill., a son of the late Brandon and Henrietta Green King. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, was in the Masonic Lodge in Paducah, Ky., was a Syria Mosque Shriner in Pittsburgh, Pa., and a 60-year member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
Mr. King is survived by his beloved wife, Loretta Gnipp King; daughter, Lynda (Jerry) Platt of Aiken; son, Jim (Elaine) King of Aiken; eight stepchildren, three grandchildren; 13 stepgrandchildren and four great-grandsons. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Winifred Trible King.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Lydia Project Inc., 2501 McDowell Street, Augusta, GA 30904, or the Aiken Heart Association, 1003 Hammond Road, Aiken, SC 29803.
