Helen G. Hester
LANGLEY -- Mrs. Helen Hester, 80, of Langley, beloved wife of the late G.E. "Jack" Hester and daughter of the late Lewis and Ruby Walker Leverette, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009.
Born in and a lifelong resident of Aiken County, she retired from Clearwater Finishing Plant. Miss Helen loved her family dearly and always put the needs others before her own. A devout Christian, she was a very faithful member of Langley Church of God.
She is survived by a son, Larry Hester (Debbie) of North Augusta; grandson, Vaughn Hester (Robin) of Langley; great-grandson, Nicholas Hester; niece, Debbie Lotz (Harold) of Beech Island; great-niece, Crystal Lotz; and a great-nephew, Cullen Lotz.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2009, at 2 p.m. at Langley Church of God, Langley, with Bishop Benny Burton and Pastor Richie Enlow officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Graniteville. Pallbearers will be Richie Proctor, Allen Edmundson, Jimmy Price, Jimmy Murrell, Larry Peyton and Chester Enlow. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Miss Helen's Sunday School Class. Miss Helen will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Tuesday.
The family has asked that, if so desired, memorials be made to Langley Church of God, P.O. Box 797, Langley, SC 29834.
Friends may call at the home of Larry and Debbie Hester.
The family will greet friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hatcher Funeral Home & Cremation Service, U.S. Highway 1, Langley.
