Morris L. Hadden
NEW ELLENTON -- Morris L. "Gus" Hadden, 87, of New Ellenton, died Sunday, Aug. 16, 2009, at Select Specialty Hospital in Augusta.
A native of Avera, Ga., Gus was a son of the late Thomas Jefferson and Bertha Clyde Newsome Hadden. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving during World War II, and was retired from DuPont at the Savannah River Plant.
Survivors include a daughter, Carol H. Posey of Aiken; two sons, M.L. (Bonnie) Hadden of Avera, Ga., and Sam (Andrea) Hadden of New Ellenton; five grandchildren, Brady Hadden, James Posey, Alex Posey, Brenna Hadden and Shaina Hadden; a great-grandson, Harley Hadden; a sister, Elsie Milburn of Gibson, Ga.; and a brother, Thomas J. "Bud" (Agnes) Hadden of Avera, Ga.
Funeral services will be held from the graveside in St. Paul's United Methodist Church Cemetery, New Ellenton, on Wednesday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Robert Jackson officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Shellhouse-Rivers Funeral Home, 715 East Pine Log Road, Aiken.
