Marty Collins
WATKINSVILLE, Ga. -- Martin Collins Jr., 46, died Nov. 23, 2009.
A native of Barnwell, he was a son of Gearl Martin Collins Sr. of Aiken and Shirley Ann Powell Collins of Barnwell. In 1998, Dr. Collins earned his Doctrine of Education from the University of Georgia and taught agriculture for 20 years at Greene County High School. Dr. Collins was also an Eagle Scout.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Nov. 28, 2009, at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, West Chapel, Bogart, Ga. Interment will be in Oconee Memorial Park.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his wife, Beth Collins; two children, Sam Collins and Katie Collins, all of Watkinsville, Ga.; and brother, Mitchell (Kirsten) Collins, and their son, Mason, all of Aiken. The family will receive friends Friday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Lord and Stephens, Athens West Chapel, Bogart, Ga., is in charge of arrangements.
