Mary Frances Gregory
NORTH AUGUSTA -- Mrs. Mary Frances Gregory, 80, of North Augusta, beloved wife of the late James W. Gregory and daughter of the late Thomas Francis and Bertha Lotthammer Keefe, entered into rest, Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2009, at her home with her daughters at her side.
Born in Butte, Mont., she was a "Navy wife" and she, along with her husband and children, lived in various parts of the country before making Aiken County home in 1963. She was a member of Woodridge Baptist Church. Before her health declining, she enjoyed gardening, traveling, shopping, reading and sewing.
Family members include children, the late James Thomas Gregory, Frances "Francey" Gregory Russell (Dean) of Lugoff, Janet Lee Gregory of North Augusta, Patricia "Patti" Louise Gregory of Langley, the late Debra Diane Gregory and her four-legged child, "Sugar"; sister, Helen M. Wakefield of Butte, Mont.; seven grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 19 at 2 p.m. at Hatcher Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Langley, with Dr. Ronald Hasty officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Graniteville. Pallbearers will be Dean Russell, Casey Richardson, Mitch Gregory, Christopher Feraci, Eli Gregory and Mike Holland.
The family has asked that, if so desired, memorials in memory of Frances be made to Trinity Hospice (www.trinityofaugusta.com) or the South Carolina School for the Deaf & Blind (www.scsdb.k12.scus) for the excellent care provided to her.
Friends may call at the home of Janet Gregory. The family will greet friends Friday, Dec. 18 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Hatcher Funeral Home & Cremation Service, U.S. Highway 1, Langley.
