Ivey L. Wright
WAGENER -- Ivey Luther Wright died on Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2009. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, 2009, at Cabaniss Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6 until 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4, 2009, at Cabaniss Baptist Church.
Mr. Wright, the son of the late Ottis Otto Wright and Katie Estelle Lemons Wright, was born Jan. 30, 1930, in Rockmart, Ga. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Marines. Mr. Wright was a member of Cabaniss Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Elizabeth Wright of Wagener; children, Deborah and Davey McAbee of Gaffney, Donald and Alice Wright of Wagener, son who is also a three-time Iraqi veteran and on duty at Fort Bliss, Texas, Susan and James Martiny of Thomaston, Ga., Terry and Johnny Cheney of Neeses, Barry and Carol Wright of Michigan and David Wright; 35 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Wright is also survived by two sisters, Fay and Jerry Willis of North Carolina and Linda and Kenneth Willis of Douglasville, Ga., and a very special aunt, Ms. Betty Locklear of Lilburn, Ga.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Romas Wright of Dallas, Ga.
Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
