Julian Earl 'Junebug' Oswalt
BATESBURG -- Services for Julian Earl "Junebug" Oswalt, 81, of 1529 Chinquapin Church Road, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009, at Mount Ebal Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Dr. Bill Paulling will officiate. Active pallbearers will be his grandsons.
The family will receive friends Friday, Nov 20, 2009, from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. at Milton Shealy Funeral Home. Other times will be at his residence. Memorials may be made to Mount Ebal Baptist Church, Building Fund, 4360 Wire Road, Batesburg, SC 29006.
Mr. Oswalt died, Thursday, Nov. 19, 2009, at his home. Born in Aiken County, he was the son of the late Julian E. Oswalt Sr. and Lollie Bell Oswalt. He was a member of Mount Ebal Baptist Church. He was the second-generation owner of J.E. Oswalt and Sons House Moving and Heavy Hauling.
Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law, Gary (Cindy) Oswalt and David (Kim) Oswalt, all of Batesburg; daughters and sons-in-law, Marilyn (Ed) Watson of Batesburg, Judy (Craig) Autry of Sanford, N.C., Dean (Keith) Radford of Aiken and Debbie Oswalt of Batesburg; grandchildren, Nick and Kellie Watson of Batesburg, Amanda and Chris Satterfield of Greenville, Garrett Oswalt, Jared and Gwen Oswalt of Bateburg, Craig and Melissa Autry of Sanford, N.C., the Rev. Chris and Rebecca Autry of Fort Mill, Jennifer and Joey Rhoades, David Oswalt Jr., Daniel Oswalt of Batesburg, Andrew Radford and Julie Radford of Aiken; and five great-grandchildren, Nate, Luke and Avery Watson, Caleb and Sarah Autry. He is predeceased by his wife, Sallie A. Oswalt; son, Jeffrey Lee Oswalt; sisters, Louise Rankin, Dean Fallaw Ferguson and Nyla Thomas. Milton Shealy Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
