Warren Brian Whitson
Mr. Warren Brian Whitson, 65, died Monday, July 27, 2009, at his residence.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church. The Rev. Dr. Fred Andrea III will officiate. Inurnment will follow in Fairfax Cemetery, Fairfax, at 3 p.m.
Honorary pallbearers will be Todd Bornscheuer, Dr. John Bradley, Dr. Bill Gallman, Tom McCullough, Roy Mills, Ricky Montgomery, John Mullen, Kin Purvis, Bill Pearson, Dusty Rhodes, Tom Young Sr. and the Aiken Dove Club.
Mr. Whitson was born in Charleston, a son of Dorothy Elizabeth Dixon Whitson of Aiken, and the late Price Julian Whitson. He had been a resident of Aiken since 1971. He was a retired principal from Midland Valley High School and Silver Bluff High School. He was a member of First Baptist Church and the Aiken Dove Club.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his beloved wife, Betty Jo Phillips Whitson; a daughter, Dr. Kelly (Dr. Jonas) McAlarney of Raleigh, N.C.; a son, Brian Carlton Whitson of Dallas, Texas; a granddaughter, Haley Elizabeth McAlarney; a sister, Marta Joanne Fogle of Fairfax; a brother, Stanley Julian Whitson of Summerville and a number of nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the charity of one's choice.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday evening at Shellhouse Funeral Home Inc., 924 Hayne Ave., Aiken.
