Geraldine Vileno
A memorial service for Mrs. Geraldine E. Vileno will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2010, at 1 p.m. at St. Thaddeus Episcopal Church Chapel of the Holy Apostles, Aiken. Interment will be private. George Funeral Home & Cremation Center is assisting the family. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Heart Association, 520 Gervais St., Suite 300, Columbia, SC 29201 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Mrs. Vileno, 91, of Aiken, died Monday, Feb. 8, 2010, at her home.
Born in Springfield, Mass., she was the daughter of the late John "Mac" and Johanna Barton McFarland. She lived in Marietta, Ohio, and in various cities in Florida before moving to Aiken in 1995. She helped her parents at the Wakefield Hotel in Marietta, Ohio, while growing up. She volunteered in the Women's Auxiliary at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. She enjoyed antiquing, swimming, diving, growing roses and traveling.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Frank L. Vileno Sr.; brother, John Milford McFarland III; and sister, Julia Carey. She is survived by her children, Jeanne (Richard) Egan of Alpharetta, Ga.; Marilyn (Dr. Francis) Hamilton of Wilton, Conn.; Frank L. Vileno Jr. of Stewart, Fla.; Paul (Melody W.) Vileno of St. Pete Beach, Fla.; Jim Vileno of Haines City, Fla.; and Nancy (Thomas III) Conner of Atlanta. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
