Spring Hill Farm takes Prioress' top two spots 7/4/2009 11:44 PM

Spring Hill Farm's entry of Cat Moves and Light Green accounted for the exacta as they placed first and second in the 6-furlong Grade One Prioress Stakes on Saturday at Belmont Park.
Cat Moves, conditioned by Anthony Dutrow, took command in the stretch, drawing off to win by three-quarters of a length over the Todd Pletcher-trained Light Green. Legacy Stable's Ron Stevens broke and trained both Cat Moves and Light Green in Aiken.
Cambus-Kenneth Farm's Wilderness Trace closed furiously, collaring the lead in deep stretch from Opera Heroine to win a 1-mile, 70-yard allowance race on the turf at Delaware Park by a half length on Monday. The 5-year-old dark bay mare is conditioned by John Fisher and trained at Iris and W.C. Freeman's Chime Bell Farm.
Maggi Moss' Becky's Express, an Aiken Trials alumnus, coasted to a six-length victory in a one-mile allowance race on June 24 at Indiana Downs. Tom Amoss conditions the 3-year-old son of Congaree, the 2002 Aiken Trained Horse of the Year, who was bred by Stonerside Stable and was broken and trained in Aiken by Tim Jones. The accredited Texas-bred gelding increased his bankroll to $62,735 and has won four races and placed second once in nine career starts.
Steve Epley Jr. and Nekia Farm's Saluda Sam, who finished fourth in the 2009 Aiken Spring Steeplechase training flat race, nailed McBurns at the wire to break his maiden on the turf in a one-mile flat race Monday at Indiana Downs by a neck. The 4-year-old South Carolina-bred gelding is by Adcat, conditioned by Epley Jr., and broken and trained in Aiken by the trainer.
James Hackman's Breezy Cafe raced close to the pace throughout, bumped a rival and took command in the stretch, drawing off to break her maiden by one length in a 5-furlong race Thursday at Monmouth Park. The 2-year-old daughter of multiple graded stakes winner Formal Dinner is conditioned by Glenn Thompson, who broke and trained the filly in Aiken.
Another Stonerside-bred runner, Texas Wildcatter, placed second in the Lieutenant Governors' Handicap Wednesday at Hastings Race Course. The 4-year-old gray colt by Monarchos was broken and trained in Aiken by Jones. Texas Wildcatter placed in four stakes during his sophomore campaign including the Whirlaway Stakes, the Grade 3 Gotham Stakes, Grade 3 Canadian Derby and Grade 3 British Columbia Derby.
Dogwood Stable's Blackberry Road placed second Thursday in a one-mile allowance race at Churchill Downs. The half-brother to the 2002 Eclipse Award-winning 2-year-old colt Vindication and graded stakes winner Scipion is trained by Dallas Stewart and was broken and trained in Aiken by Stevens. Blackberry Road increased his bankroll to $225,540.
George Schwartz's Way With Words placed second Wednesday in a 5-furlong allowance race at Monmouth Park. The 5-year-old New Jersey-bred mare trained at Chime Bell Farm.
Bob Zahl's Storm N Rosie Lace placed second Monday in a 5¬½-furlong maiden race at Indiana Downs.
