* Darley USA's chief operating officer Olly Tait was named as one of the Thoroughbred Times' Ten to Watch as someone in the industry who is certain to make a significant impact.

* Spring Hill Farm bred five horses who were recognized as Virginia-bred champions including Casanova Move, a 2-year-old filly champion; Ghost Dancing, a sprinter; and Dance Hall Days, a 3-year-old filly champion; all three were broken and trained in Aiken by Ron Stevens. The others were Charitable Man (a 2-year-old male) and Warning Zone (a turf horse).

* Fairwinds Farm's stakes placed Indian Ink won a 7¬½-furlong allowance race on the turf by a half-length last Tuesday at River Downs. The dark bay filly by Gold Market is conditioned by Mike Rone. The 4-year-old Ohio-bred was broken and trained in Aiken by Kelly Tucker.

"I couldn't be happier for Kim and Lori Williams. They are fantastic people who love their horses and love horse racing. We always knew this filly had talent, but she seems to have really matured over the winter in Aiken and has been consistently good with trainer Mike Rone," said Tucker in an e-mail.

* Bob Zahl's Linda's Lace won a one-mile allowance race on the turf last Monday at Indiana Downs. The 6-year-old mare by Marshall Lamb's stallion Is Sveikatas caught the leaders in deep stretch before drawing off to win by 1¬½ lengths. The dark bay half-sister to stakes placed Roy's Boy's has seven wins, 11 second-place finishes and three third-place finishes, en route to bankrolling $198,989.

* Darley Stable's Abby's Angel raced close to the pace with tactical speed and took command entering the stretch to win a 7-furlong allowance race Thursday at Arlington Park by one length. The 4-year-old filly by the 1997 Belmont Stakes winner Touch Gold is trained by Mike Stidham and was broken and trained in Aiken by Tim Jones.

* Sam Kassin and Eli Gindi's Slam the Cat wired the field in a 6-furlong race Sunday at Belmont Park. The 3-year-old filly by Grand Slam drew off to win by 2¼ lengths. The John Kimmel charge was broken and trained in Aiken by Legacy Stable's Ron Stevens.

* Nicholas Harris and Donald Ross' Harrier broke his maiden in a 7-furlong race on the turf last Wednesday at Woodbine. The 3-year-old gelding is conditioned by Mike Keogh and paid $29.20 to win.

* Richard Duchossois' First of February raced close to the pace before collaring the leader late to break her maiden in a one-mile race on the turf Thursday at Arlington Park. The 3-year-old chestnut filly is trained by Chris Block and was broken in Aiken by Brookridge Stables.

* Spring Hill Farm's Malibu Prayer placed second in the 1 1/8-mile Grade One Mother Goose Stakes Saturday at Belmont Park. The Todd Pletcher charge was broken and trained in Aiken by Legacy Stable's Ron Stevens.

* Spring Hill Farm's Spritely placed second Sunday in the 7-furlong Grade Two First Flight Handicap at Belmont Park. The Todd Pletcher charge was broken and trained in Aiken by Legacy Stable's Ron Stevens.

* Darley's Kiawah Cat placed second in the 1 1/16-mile Grade Three Boiling Springs Handicap on the turf Saturday at Monmouth Park. The bay filly's dam Thunder Kitten placed third in the same race. The 3-year-old filly is trained by Bill Mott and was broken and trained in Aiken by Tim Jones.
