Schools receive performance awards
South Aiken High School and North Augusta High School have earned performance improvement awards based on SAT and ACT college entrance exams.
South Aiken received a summa cum laude for distinguished performance on the ACT exam and cum laude for excellent performance on the SAT.
North Augusta High earned cum laude honors for both tests.
"This is an accomplishment both students and educators can celebrate," Superintendent Dr. Beth Everitt said in a press release. "South Aiken High earned the highest recognition possible for improvement on the ACT exam, while North Augusta High improved at an excellent level for both exams. This speaks volumes for the hard work that occurs in our classrooms. With recognitions such as this, we are definitely on the right path for academic excellence."
