Almost a month after a tow truck driver was robbed at gunpoint in Graniteville, a similar incident was reported Thursday.

The victim, who was held up shortly before 11 a.m. on Nov. 9, said he believes the men who robbed him might be the same men who held up another tow service Thursday around 10:30 a.m. in the Shilo Heights area of Aiken County.

The Aiken County Sheriff's Office is investigating the possibility the two are connected, but no arrests have been made in either case, according to incident reports.

The victims held up this week told deputies they were called to Fifth Avenue in Shilo Heights to tow a vehicle. The tow service driver showed deputies a record of three incoming calls marked "private."

When the tow service arrived at Fifth Avenue, two men, described as black men in their late teens or early 20s wearing black hooded sweatshirts, reportedly held the driver at gunpoint and demanded money from two tow service employees.

The gunmen took money from one of the victims before running off, reports said.

Witnesses within earshot of the holdup told deputies they heard several gunshots fired and saw two men running away from the tow service men.

In early November, a tow truck driver was held up on Pine Street in Graniteville by two black men in their late teens or early 20s, wearing black hooded sweatshirts.

The tow truck driver called to Graniteville on Nov. 9 said two men took his cellular phone, wallet and cash.

Anyone with information about these subjects is asked to contact the Aiken County Sheriff's Office at (800) 922-9709. Individuals also should call CrimeStoppers of the Midlands at (888) CRIME-SC. Callers can remain anonymous and will be eligible for a cash reward of between $50 and $1,000.
