One of the County's 10 most wanted suspects connected to a number of burglaries in the area was arrested Wednesday in North Augusta, officials said.

Marquis Cummings, 26, of Seaborn Drive in North Augusta, is charged with first-degree burglary, three counts of second-degree burglary, possession of a stolen vehicle and kidnapping.

Acting on a tipster's information, the Aiken County Sheriff's Office Special Operations Team captured Cummings at a Power House Road location.

Between January and November, he was accused of burglarizing three area residences.

During two of the burglaries, he was armed with a handgun and held the residents against their will, deputies said.

All three residences were in North Augusta, said Sgt. Dave Myers, a sheriff's office spokesperson.

Aiken County Sheriff's Office deputies said jewelry, electronics and a vehicle were stolen.

Sheriff Michael Hunt thanked the residents for help with the Most Wanted program, adding that it has a positive impact on the agency's ability to capture a number of suspects.
