Tuesday Morning will pack up shop, relocate to Aiken Exchange next year
Tuesday Morning is moving from its location in Kalmia Plaza on Richland Avenue to a space beside PetSmart next year.
Tuesday Morning public relations confirmed the store will open in its new location in the Aiken Exchange shopping center in February.
That was the extent of details provided, and store staff directed all media inquiries to corporate public relations.
The store's new location, in the space Pier 1 Imports once occupied, is 9,624 square feet. It is unclear the amount of square feet the store has in its Kalmia Plaza space.
Tuesday Morning opened in Kalmia Plaza in March 2005.
The retail chain, which has more than 700 stores across the country, offers closeout merchandise from department stores, specialty stores and high-end catalogs, including housewares, bed linens, china and crystal, bath accessories, luggage, garden accessories, home décor and seasonal decorations.
All of Tuesday Morning's stock is priced at 50 to 80 percent off retail.
The stores hold 10 sale events throughout the year, usually on the first Tuesday of the month, timed to coincide with peak selling times in the retail industry.
Tuesday Morning advertises the shopping experience as a casual, self-serve, in-store atmosphere with a no-frills presentation.
The store is hiring part-time store associates. For more information, visit www.snagajob.com.
The chain has been in operation since 1974 and is based in Dallas.
