Police seek suspect in store robbery
Aiken Public Safety officers are looking for a man they say held up a Whiskey Road convenience Tuesday morning store while armed with a screwdriver.
Police met with the victim, a clerk at the Kangaroo Express, who said the man held a screwdriver to her throat after walking into the store around 5 a.m.
She said he demanded money from her while he held the screwdriver to her throat, and she handed him money from the cash register. He then took off running, she told police.
The suspect is described as a white man about 6 feet tall and around 225 pounds, had short, thick black hair and some facial hair.
He was wearing a black pullover sweatshirt with what appeared to be "Carolina" written on the front, said Lt. David Turno, a spokesperson for Aiken Public Safety.
The suspect was also wearing blue jeans and round black sunglasses.
He was last seen running toward Advanced Auto Parts.
