Suspect charged in stabbing death
An Aiken man has been charged with the murder of another man following an altercation between the two on Saturday.
Allen Christopher Tufano, 35, of Partridge Bend Road in Aiken, has been charged with murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.
According to authorities, around 9 p.m. on Saturday, deputies with the Aiken County Sheriff's Office responded to Partridge Bend Road regarding a man lying on the ground.
The subject, later identified as Dancer Richter, 20, had been stabbed multiple times.
Sheriff's office investigators discovered that he had been stabbed in the chest area with a knife following an altercation, according to Sgt. Dave Myers, spokesperson for the Aiken County Sheriff's Office.
Richter was transported to Aiken Regional Medical Centers, where he was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival.
According to the coroner's office, Richter died from multiple stab wounds, but the fatal injury was to his heart and lung. Toxicology is pending.
Tufano is being held at the Aiken County detention center.
This is the 14th homicide in Aiken County in 2009.
The investigation is being conducted by the Aiken County Coroner's Office and the Aiken County Sheriff's Office.
