What would the holiday season be without a parade or two? Several are planned for the Aiken area in the upcoming weeks.
* The New Ellenton Christmas Parade will take place at noon Saturday, Dec. 5 on Main Street. Entries will be accepted through Dec. 4; call City Hall at (803) 652-2214 for details.
* The GVW Fire Department and Ladies' Auxiliary Christmas Parade begins at 3 p.m. Dec. 5 at Leavelle-McCampbell Middle School, 82 Canal St., Graniteville.
* There will be a Night-Time Christmas Parade at 6 p.m. Dec. 5 in Ward. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. in the Ward Community Building. For information, leave a message at (803) 685-5832.
* The Bamberg Christmas Parade begins at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 5. For more information, call (803) 245-4113.
* The Denmark Christmas Parade will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5 on Main Street. For more information, call (803) 793-3734.
* The North Augusta Lions Club sponsors a parade at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6 on Georgia Avenue from Martintown Road to Buena Vista Avenue.
* The Aiken Jaycees 2009 Christmas Parade begins at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6 with a route running down Park Avenue and up Laurens Street. This year's theme is "Christmas Through The Years." More information about the parade is available at www.aikenjaycees.com.
* The Allendale Christmas Parade will be at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6 and will follow Main Street from Gum to Pleasant streets. For more information, call (803) 584-4619.
* The Blackville Christmas Parade will be at 11 a.m. on S.C. Highway 3, Solomon Blatt Avenue. For more information, call (803) 284-0102 or (803) 284-2444.
* The Town of Jackson Christmas Parade will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 13. Entry forms are available at Town Hall. For information, call 471-2228.
