Two Aiken men are in jail on allegations they were involved in an assault in which a vehicle was used as a weapon, according to warrants.

Scotty M. Dyches, 36, of Wise Hollow Road in Aiken, is charged with assault with intent to kill.

William H. Dyches, 41, of Williams Sand Road in Aiken, is charged with assault with intent to kill.

The alleged assault was reported Oct. 30.

The two men reportedly struck another vehicle during the assault and then chased after the victims when they reportedly got out of the vehicle.

According to police reports, the three victims ran into a store and asked the clerk to lock the door. The victims said the men shattered the glass door and chased them through the store.

The victims were reportedly able to get away, officials said.

An Aiken woman was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol Wednesday after she reportedly drove her vehicle at her husband and struck him with the car, officials said.

Tara L. Shellhouse, 36, of Valley Green Drive, was charged and released to her father.

According to the police report, the woman admitted to consuming wine with her husband at a local restaurant.

A witness called police to report the alleged DUI after reportedly watching a man attempt to exit the vehicle.

The caller told police that while the man was still standing in the door, the vehicle began to back up.

"This caused the male subject to fall to the ground. Once the male subject stood up, the vehicle lunged forward and struck the male subject. The male subject stood up and ran into the woods near Steeplechase Apartments," the report states.

The woman would not provide a breath sample, police report.

She was booked and charged.

Aiken County tax collector Martin Posey has been placed on five days of unpaid leave.

Aiken County Administrator Clay Killian said the leave is not directly related to Aiken Public Safety's open criminal probe. The investigation pertains to claims made by an Aiken woman alleging Posey, her boss, harassed her; however, the cause of the suspension was discovered during an internal investigation launched because of those claims.

Posey's leave started Tuesday.

Comment Title: This is a shame
I am a County employee and the thing that bothers me the most in all of this is; in the past 5 years, personell problems that Aiken County has had, have come from employees that have been there 15+ years. I guess they think they can do anything they want and are untouchable. They have made every County employee look bad. I, for one, am tired of it. I choose the job I have and proudly serve the citizens of Aiken County, as do many other employees. Things are different now and will never be the same. We are alert in the hallways, stairwells, the parking lot and all the places that we may or have been alone in. It really is sad that ladies wonder just how safe their workplace is now. We have accepted, and will watch out for each other, and make sure no one of us is ever in a situation of unprotection again. We will have a safe work place and not be afraid... or be harrassed by anyone...male or female...co-worker...or supervisor.

Comment Title: Any place else this would seem strange
How can any investigation (By Aiken County or ADPS) have any credibility when witnessess are called for statements by asking the defendant to tell them to go. Calls them in his office shuts the door and tells them to report to the interviewer. If all else fails use intimidation We have a saying for this, "Don't Piss down my back and tell me it's raining"

You know, people can go to church, read their Bibles & yet still deceive the very person closest to them, their spouse. But, if you look for signs of something amiss, they will be there. All you have to do is follow them & you will eventually get your answer because sooner or later, they will make a mistake. Nobody gets by with anything they do forever. Sooner or later, it will come right back to you. You can be forgiven but what you do to others does come back to you.

How do you get arrested for DUI and then released to your father? This is a scandal. Meanwhile, the Duke Boys hit another car and are charged with Attempted Murder? Were they released to their father? Why was she not charged with attempted murder of her husband?

Come on. Copy Cat. At least be original in your support of him instead of telling him to hold his head up high like setting the record straight did. You know you can support which ever of the two you want. how do you know the allegations are false? You weren't there so you do not know what martin did. Just like I was not there and I do not know. But we all have the freedom to choose whom we believe. I am sure this is not the first time his family has gone through hell. If it is, maybe they better get used to it, because life is hell. You just need to roll however you want to roll and stop being a copy cat. Better yet, why don't you just roll on down to his place and tell him how much you supprt him. But, please do not tell him to hold his head up high. If you are really a supporter of his, come up with you own words of support.

Comment Title: Setting the Record Straight
First of all, someone has to have an untarnished reputation, for it to be tarnished. There can be no slander charges and deformation of character when the truth is being told. Which one are you...past or present? You are an idiot...God already knows who is wrong. He does not have to wait until judgement day. If all you "groupies" want to support the accused, what do we care? But, as was stated before, employees are not suspended without pay for no reason, so explain that one (since you have all the answers)...and we know who you are. When you see us, you cannot look us in the eye. She is a victim & has proved she has no guilt by coming back to work. This lady said "no" and now you're saying she is trying to ruin the family. She is not the one that is responsible for that. He gets all that credit. She is not TRYING anything. By saying "no" and reporting this offense, SHE HAS STOPPED IT FROM HAPPENING TO HER AGAIN OR ANOTHER LADY. As I stated before, hold your head up high girl, because we KNOW the truth & we are behind you a 110% now. The more they blame you, the more support you will have. The sheep in wolves clothing are being exposed. It is a new day in the Aiken County workplace and this lady started the revolution. If I ever see ANY man saying anything lewd, touching or rubbing any lady, she will not have to report it. I will report it for her. Whether you people, groupies, or whatever you are, know it or not, the truth has been found out. Many eyes are watching, so if you are smart, you will keep your hands & mouths to yourself. And just so you know how serious this is, ladies are arming themselves with digital cameras. WE ARE NOT GOING TO BE HARRASSED!!!

APPARENTLY THIS WOMAN DOESN'T KNOW WHAT THAT IS, TARNISHING SOMEONE ELSES REPUTATION AND TRYING TO RUIN THE FAMILY ALSO, THEIR THE ONES WHONEED TO BACK OFF, NOT MR. POSEY ! MARTIN WERE BEHIND YOU 100 0/0, AND COME JUDGEMENT DAY, GOD ABOVE KNOWS WHO DONE WRONG AND WHO DIDNT !

I think Mr. Killian & Mr. Glover have done a great job with the ongoing probe into the harrassment investigation. Yes, this "lady" did go back to work today and I admire her for walking right in the office to face everyone because SHE has done nothing wrong. EVERYBODY should keep their hands & mouths to themselves. It pisses me off that the sexual harrassment law (made by a man) allows him to say anything he wants or touch me until "I" say no. Please, that is disgusting. It should be the other way around. It is automatically, do not say anything or touch me until "I" say yes. You people can write whatever you want about her but she has alot of support at Aiken County complex. The question was asked "why was a man's name destroyed probably falsely" (if you are so sure, why is the 'probably' in there),so I am asking...why is it automatically the "lady's" (& yes she is a lady) fault. I will tell you why, it is assumed because of who the person is that is accused that she is being judged. As for the Tax Office back to business as NORMAL...I don't think so. Things are changing around Aiken County. Employees are starting to speak up and not sit back and take abuse anymore. I think it is hilarious that as nice & sweet as she is, that anyone would believe she would even consider hitting on him...of all the ...HAHAHAHAHAHA! Not Him! Everyone is jealous of her. She is a very nice, honest & hard working lady and she is to be commended for having the nerve to say NO!!! Besides, we know who is writing all the negative things about her. They really should be careful & treat her professionally or it will be considered retaliation and she will have another case against the workplace. Besides, you don't suspend someone without pay for nothing....the truth will come out & until then....hold your head up girl, cause we are all behind you 100% that know the truth!

I think the people who make false claims,,, should be charged just like filing a false police report. Killian wants to do what is Politically correct, at the expense of a long term honest employee.

Comment Title: Aiken County Tax Office Back to Business AS NORMAL?
I understand this lady who made these allegations is now coming back to work in the same office with the same people and boss she accused. What is the county administration doing to protect the men in this office so that they aren't subject to any future allegations. Will there be advice given, of course to protect her, that she must leave the office if alone with a male coworker. Should the workers in the office be cautious not to be left alone with her. Believe me, I would not stay in the office with her and the county shouldn't expect anyone else to. She has taken someones life and family through much torment yet it wasn't so bad that she doesn't mind coming right back to work. Why was a man's name destroyed, probably falsely, yet hers never mentioned? Will the county demand that she go through some type of training of the difference in working with coworkers (men and women) versus her diverse thoughts that people have a crush on her.
