Register for Aiken Christian Women's Connection lunches
Once a month, a luncheon is held with the goal of making new friends and celebrating old friendships.
The Aiken Christian Women's Connection luncheon is held monthly at Woodside Plantation Country Club.
Each month, a guest speaker shares words of encouragement and musical guests perform.
Reservations are required for the luncheons, which are all $16 and include a free preschool nursery with advance registration. Each luncheon begin at 11:15 a.m. and lasts until 1 p.m.
On Tuesday, the group plans to hold a holiday fashion show with fashions by Makeover Magic Consignment. The guest speaker will be Babs Hawks of Woodstock, Ga., a former Ms. Senior Arizona and first runner-up for the National Ms. Senior America pageant. Hawks will speak on the topic of "Life is a Roller Coaster."
Reservations for the November luncheon must be made by Friday.
During the month of December, the luncheon will feature a Magic Wreath Making Contest where participants will have the opportunity to create cheery holiday wreaths.
The December guest speaker will be Betty Parker of Thomson, Ga. She will speak about life's crossroads in her cross-country travels with her husband. Shanda Piercy will offer the music. Reservations must be made by Dec. 4.
A Charlie Brown New Year will be the theme for the Jan. 27 event. The luncheon will offer re-gifting at its best with the opportunity to exchange the not-so-perfect gift you received for a treasure. The guest speaker will be Mary Jane Battista of Bluffton sharing her Charlie Brown story, a mother-daughter story where impossibilities became possibilities. Music will be offered by Dannette Kelly-Dailey. Reservations must be made by Jan. 23.
For more information or to make reservations for any of the luncheons, call Onesta at 649-0649 or Shirley at 649-6697.
"Please join us. There is nothing to join, just instant friends and fun fellowship," said Nancy Gregory, group member.
