Meet Democratic gubernatorial candidates
Democratic candidates for next year's governor's race will be in town this evening.
South Carolina Democratic Party is offering local residents the opportunity to meet all of the state's Democratic gubernatorial candidates during a Meet Our Next Governor reception at the Aiken Men of Action Building, 640 Old Airport Road.
The event will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
Candidates scheduled to attend include State Education Superintendent Jim Rex, attorneys Dwight Drake and Mullins McLeod, Sen. Robert Ford and Sen. Vincent Sheheen.
State Democratic Party Chair Carol Fowler is also a special guest for the reception.
This reception is one of several similar events that the South Carolina Democratic Party will host around the state. Receptions will also be held in Hilton Head, Charleston, Anderson and Pawleys Island.
"We're really excited to have all of our gubernatorial candidates appear in one venue," said former State Democratic Party Chair Ronnie Maxwell in a release. "Democrats are looking forward to a win in the 2010 election. This event is a great way to celebrate the change that one of these candidates will bring to our state."
