Who is Todd Kincannon?
Three absentee voter precincts were set to be open on Monday, allowing eligible absentee voters in North Augusta, Wagener and Aiken select a convenient office.
However this all changed thanks to the input, a letter, from one man - Todd Kincannon. So who is this Greenville County native who has taken an interest in Aiken County election politics?
Kincannon is an attorney in Columbia, although he claims residence of Simpsonville. Now an attorney Kincannon's undergraduate work was all in the sciences.
He is a 2007 graduate of the University of South Carolina School of Law, but though he only graduated last year he has packed in a great deal.
The 27-year-old is an attorney for the South Carolina Republican Party and is currently its Parliamentarian, serving his third term.
He is employed by the law firm Barnes, Alford, Stork and Johnson and has written amicus briefs for the Republican Party that have been used in the U.S. Supreme Court on topics such as the landmark D.C. handgun ban that was decided Summer 2008.
As well as a legal supporter of gun rights, Kincannon is described as "an avid gun collector" by lobby groups.
Aiken is not his first attempt at determining election issues or law. In fact Kincannon has previously been qualified as an expert in S.C. Circuit Court on the subject of election procedure.
For his work with the GOP, Kincannon has been presented the Palmetto Elephant award this year.
An active GOP campaigner, the new attorney claimed in 2002 to have walked a marathon knocking on doors to "Get Out The Vote" for fellow Republicans over two days in 2002 and then called 500 voters the next day.
