Police seek suspects in burglaries 10/2/2009 12:36 AM By KAREN DAILY Staff writer
While investigating a number of recent burglaries in the area, Aiken County Sheriff's Office deputies have identified two men they have linked to thefts in the area.
Kelvin Sharod Addison, 23, of Kellogg Drive in Aiken is wanted for first-degree burglary and grand larceny. He is a suspect in a number of burglaries in the county, deputies said.
Addison has a criminal history that includes a number of arrests and convictions for armed robbery, burglary, indecent exposure and threatening a public official.
Deputies said he will be charged with first-degree burglary and grand larceny. Other charges might be pending, and he should be considered armed and dangerous. During the most recent theft deputies are connecting him to, Addison reportedly stole jewelry valued at nearly $4,000, a firearm and cash. The break-in was reported on Sept. 15 at a Belvedere Road home.
Deputies are also looking for Julian Q. Gavin, 34, of Charleston Highway in Williston. He is wanted for grand larceny and receiving stolen goods. Since Sept. 21, Gavin has been in possession of a riding lawn mower and tiller that had been reported stolen from a Windsor location, deputies said. He also has been accused of stealing from at least one other Windsor address.
Investigators are not linking the two men to any particular crime or series of crimes and are not revealing much about the investigation.
They have not said how they have linked Gavin to the recent thefts. The public information officer said he would speak only about generalities and could not be specific at this time.
Gavin also has a criminal history that involves forgery and burglary. He is out on bond for a February arrest involving three forgery charges.
Anyone with information about these subjects is asked to contact the Aiken County Sheriff's Office at (800) 922-9709. Individuals also should call Crime Stoppers of the Midlands at (888) CRIME-SC.
Callers can remain anonymous and will be eligible for a cash reward of between $50 and $1000.

When will the leaders of the black community stand up and denounce this violent crime wave that young black men are inflicting upon Aiken?

The liberals and ACLU will have no part of it. They think people can be rehabilitated by being locked up while the repeat offender data says otherwise.

Comment Title: thieves
Burglars and thieves should be shot on sight. Why should taxpayers have to pay their upkeep in jails. Justice short and swift and sure is always the best way to go.
