A second suspect in an ongoing murder investigation has turned himself in.

On Saturday afternoon, murder suspect Jeremy Holloway voluntarily surrendered at Aiken Public Safety headquarters.

According to Sgt. Aaron Dowdy, Holloway was accompanied by his lawyer, and the incident was uneventful.

Investigators said Holloway will be charged with murder, two counts of assault and battery with intent to kill and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.

The charges will not stop there as the Aiken County Sheriff's Office also holds warrants for Holloway for armed robbery, kidnapping and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime from a separate incident.

Aiken Public Safety requested the help of the community in locating Holloway late last week after arresting Freddie L. Simpkins on the same charges. The two have been linked to the Sept. 8 shooting death of 30-year-old Donald McCalla that occurred at 411 Abbeville Ave. around 8 p.m.

McCalla died of multiple gunshot wounds he received while he and two others were sitting in a pickup truck outside the vacant Abbeville Avenue location. The shooting is

believed to be drug related and not a random shooting.

Holloway has also been linked by the sheriff's office to a July 31 home invasion at the Riverbirch apartment complex in Aiken. Investigators allege that Holloway broke into the residence and held a victim at gunpoint, stealing more than $3,000.

The murder occurred while Holloway was out on bond for a weapons violation. According to documents, Holloway has a lengthy criminal history.
