Voters will head to the polls tomorrow to cast their votes in the Republican Primary for the City Council election.

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Voting in the election is limited to those who reside within the City of Aiken.

In order to cast a ballot, voters will need to bring a form of identification with them to the polling place such as their voter registration card, South Carolina driver's license or a state-issued ID.

Republican candidates in the municipal election include District 4 candidates Allen Brodie and Reggie Ebner and at-large candidates Liz Stewart, Steve Homoki, Kent Cubbage and incumbent Don Wells.

Local election officials are predicting an average turnout for the City primary with about 20 percent of registered voters expected to participate in the election.

Officials have also said that a run-off is possible in the at-large race.

To avoid a run-off, at least two candidate will need 25 plus one percent of the total votes.

If needed, a run-off has been scheduled for Sept. 22.
