Shakers to bring party to Rose Hill
A party band of the South, the Fantastic Shakers, will appear at the Rose Hill Estate Summer Concert Series for the second consecutive summer.
The Shakers, based in North Carolina, will perform Friday at the downtown inn. The concert starts at 7 p.m. Individual tickets are $27 and may be purchased in advance by calling 648-1181.
Since the inception of the band, the Fantastic Shakers have performed more than 6,000 engagements from New York to Florida and all throughout the Southeast. With five lead vocalists and up to three horns, the band can perform almost any style of music from up-tempo dance and rock to the smooth, easy listening for the more subdued occasions.
Lead singer Bo Schronce has been named male vocalist of the year by the Beach Music Association on four different occasions and has been inducted into the Beach Music Hall of Fame.
The group's regional beach music hits include "Myrtle Beach Days," considered a classic in the genre; "Best Things Happen While You're Dancing"; "Where Do I Go"; and many others.
A cash bar and dinner buffet also will be available at Rose Hill on the night of the show. Gates open at 5 p.m.
