Alleged bank robbers in custody

Staff reports
Tuesday afternoon, the remaining two suspects involved in last week's Graniteville Security Federal Bank robbery turned themselves in to Aiken County Sheriff's Office investigators.

Javier Hickson, 26, of Woodland Drive Extension, Aiken, is charged with armed robbery and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.

Artrell Jabar Hickson, 19, Woodland Drive Extension, Aiken, is charged with armed robbery and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.

On June 25 the Aiken County Sheriff's Office responded to the Security Federal Bank at 80 Canal St. in Graniteville for an armed robbery. Witnesses stated that three men wearing masks and gloves entered the credit union. All three of the suspects were armed with handguns. The suspects demanded and received an undisclosed amount of money from tellers and fled the scene on foot.

The Aiken Bloodhound Tracking Team, along with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, responded and were able to apprehend one of the three subjects. That suspect, David Mark Kearse Jr. was charged with armed robbery and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.

As a result of the arrest, ACSO investigators were able draw up warrants for the two remaining suspects.

All three suspects are now being held in the Aiken County detention center.
