Man arrested after standoff with deputies
A Jackson man is in custody after a standoff with police that lasted for several hours.
Terry Lee Hornsby of 1243 Old Jackson Highway, is charged with criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature, and the possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, according to a news release from the Aiken County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies responded to a domestic dispute at Hornsby's residence and discovered that the victim and Hornsby had been involved in a domestic issue over some missing medication belonging to Hornsby. according to the news release.
According to the victim, Hornsby pointed a handgun at the victim following an argument over the missing medication, then turned away from the victim, firing several shots into the couple's television. The victim then left the residence calling for the Sheriff's Office, according to the report.
The Aiken County Sheriff's Office SWAT Team responded, and made several attempts to talk Hornsby from his home which lasted over several hours. The SWAT Team finally entered the home and arrested Hornsby, the report said.
He is being held in the Aiken County Detention Center.
