Woman dies in single-car crash
Vicki Gregory Welch, 54, of Allendale, was pronounced dead Sunday at the scene of a single-vehicle crash in Aiken County.
Welch was the unrestrained driver of a 2003 Chevy S-10 Blazer that was traveling east on Colbert Bridge Road near Aiken.
She left the roadway, struck a culvert, overturned several times and was ejected from the vehicle. The vehicle then caught fire.
The crash happened at 8:20 p.m.
There were no passengers in the vehicle. Welch died from multiple body trauma.
This crash is being investigated by the South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Aiken County Coroner's Office.
This is the 19th fatal crash in Aiken County this year.
