Dedicated young talent takes the stage Monday for the first of four performances in the Garden Theater series. The Aiken Community Playhouse Youth Wing will perform the first presentation of Garden Theater "Fairy Tale Bits & Bytes" at the Nancy Carson Library in North Augusta. The show starts at 7 p.m. "Fairy Tale Bits & Bytes" is a comedic tale of an evil computer virus who sets out to jumble up and destroy the characters from best loved fairy tales, nursery rhymes and fables," said director Tony Baughman. "I am so proud of all the actors; they have come a long way from auditions to now." The Garden Theater serves as a way for the Youth Wing to give back to the community by offering free performances geared toward audiences of elementary-age children and younger. The performance is an interactive play where the audience plays a major role in the movement of the play. In addition the Garden Theater experience is a platform to encourage youth in the community to join the Youth Wing and learn different aspects of theater. The Youth Wing is free to all youth and meets on the second Saturday of each month. Performance dates are set for Monday at the Nancy Carson Library in North Augusta, starting at 7 p.m.; Tuesday at the Aiken County Public Library in Aiken, also starting at 7 p.m.; and two performances on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at Smith-Hazel Recreation Center and at 7 p.m. in Hopelands Gardens.
