Drop by upscale resale business at grand opening this Saturday
Elà Livingstone has turned her passion into a business.
Livingstone and her fiance, Jim Sasser, will celebrate the grand opening of their business, Classy Sassy - an upscale resale store - on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. There will be wine, cheese and jazz from 4 to 6 p.m. at the store, 3096 Whiskey Road, near Citadel Drive.
"I've wanted to do this for about 35 years. I have been consignment shopping since I was 14," said Livingstone, who worked as the customer service manager at SteinMart before it closed. "I know how to dress a woman on a dime. Classy Sassy is a whole different cache."
The idea for the store sprang up about five weeks ago after Livingstone and Sasser met and fell in love.
Classy Sassy offers brand name, quality, women's-only clothing in sizes 2 to 3X. There are also belts, scarves, handbags, jewelry and shoes.
Clothes on the rack came from the couple's own closets.
"The nice thing about a resale store is you don't have to buy stock," Sasser said.
Brand names include Jones New York, Chico's, Ralph Lauren and Ann Taylor. There are formal to casual pieces, and many have never been worn indicated by the original store tags that arestill attached. Prices range from $10 to $50.
"We will be serving a certain clientele," Livingstone said. "I want customers to come in here and feel serenity, to enjoy a new, relaxing shopping experience."
Complimentary coffee will be served daily from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Classy Sassy offers its consignment customers a 50-50 split, and consignments are by appointment only. Fashion consulting is available on request.
The store will be open Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from noon to 4 p.m.
Classy Sassy can be reached at 761-3178.
