Deputies seek two in armed bank robbery

On Wednesday, at 1:17 p.m., the Aiken County Sheriff's Office responded to Security Federal Bank, 2812 Augusta Road in Langley for an armed robbery.

The victims stated that two African-American men wearing masks and gloves entered the bank. One of the suspects was large, 6 feet tall, weighing 350 pounds and armed with what is believed to be an AK-47 rifle. The other suspect was slim, 6 feet 3 inches tall, weighing 190 pounds and armed with an unknown handgun.


The suspects demanded and received an undisclosed amount of money from tellers and fled the scene in a gold Dodge Intrepid.

The vehicle was located abandoned a short time later within several blocks of the incident.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to contact the Aiken County Sheriff's Office at (800) 922-9709. Individuals also should call CrimeStoppers of the Midlands at (888) CRIME - SC. Callers can remain anonymous and will be eligible for a cash reward of between $50 and $1,000.
