School district releases district appointments
Five Aiken Count School District assistant superintendents have been formally reassigned to new administrative positions.
Last week the Board of Education approved a restructuring plan — eliminating the attendance area officers. The assistant superintendents will move into the district office in Aiken over the summer.
The new assignments are as follows:
• Janice Kitchings, assistant superintendent for Area 1, has been assigned as an elementary academic officer.
• Peggy Trivelas, assistant superintendent for Area 2, has been assigned as an elementary academic officer.
• Joy Shealy, assistant superintendent for Area 1, has been assigned as the middle school academic officer.
• Dr. Tim Yarborough, assistant superintendent for Area 3, has been assigned as a high school academic officer.
• Dr. Randall Stowe, assistant superintendent for Area 5, has been assigned as the director of administrative services.
The retirement of elementary education coordinator Michele Conner will provide the funding for Stowe's position. All the new appointments will take effect July 1.
