USCA 'Fat Pig' play debuts Thursday
USC Aiken's University Theatre will present the play, "Fat Pig," which debuts at the Etherredge Center Thursday and runs through Monday.
The off-Broadway play relates the story of plus-size Helen, who meets handsome city professional Tom. They begin dating, but Tom is reluctant about Helen meeting his friends - especially Carter and Jeannie, who have stereotypical notions of beauty. Ultimately, Tom and Helen must decide if their relationship can survive in a society where image appears to be everything.
The cast includes Chelsea Crook, Grant Luton, Jim Armstrong and Devon Hampton. The director is Prof. Dewey Scott-Wiley.
The show will run Thursday through Saturday and Monday, March 30 at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets are $15 for the general public; $12 for USCA faculty and staff, seniors and military men and women; and $7 for students. For more information, call the box office at 641-3305.
