Courtney Elisabeth Whitaker of Charlotte, N.C., and Timothy Patrick Hass of Charlotte, N.C., were married April 26, 2008, in the Harrison United Methodist Church in Charlotte, N.C. The bride was given in marriage by her parents, Charles and Gayle Whitaker. The Rev. Gayle Montgomery officiated.
The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bollin Whitaker Jr. of Charlotte. She is a granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Perrin Phillip Herrin and the late Dr. and Mrs. Charles Bollin Whitaker.
The bridegroom is a son of Lt. Col. (retired) and Mrs. Robert A. Hass of Aiken. He is a grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Paul Ferriter and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gordon Hass.
Mrs. Carleigh Newell of Charleston, sister of the bride, was the matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Cristina Gillespie of Ft. Mill, sister of the groom; Mrs. Lauren Fulmer of Aiken, cousin of the bride; Ms. Morgan Hudgins of Clemson, cousin of the bride; Ms. Brittany Midget of Wilmington, N.C., friend of the bride; Ms. Jenna Drenton of Athens, Ga., friend of the bride; and Ms. Leighanne Chandler of Denver, Colo., friend of the bride.
Robert Anthony Hass of Aiken, father of the groom, was the best man. Groomsmen were Mr. Bradley Hottel of Charleston, friend of the groom; Mr. Jim Gillespie of Ft. Mill, brother-in-law of the groom; Mr. Jay Brown of Clemson, friend of the groom; Mr. Lee Fulmer of Aiken, friend of the groom; Mr. Chris Coppel of Columbia, friend of the groom; and Mr. Bobby Hass of Aiken, cousin of the groom.
James Michael Gillespie of Ft. Mill was the ringbearer.
Following a reception at the Firethorn Country Club, the couple left for a wedding trip to St. Lucia.
They will reside in Charlotte, N.C.
The bride is a graduate of South Mecklenburg High School. She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina Wilmington with a degree in nursing. She is employed by Presbyterian Hospital.
The bridegroom is a graduate of South Aiken High School. He is a graduate of Clemson University with a degree in animal science. He is employed by Carolina First.
