Massey serves District 25 well
10/28/2008 3:30 PM
Shane Massey was elected to the South Carolina Senate last year to fill the unexpired term of Tommy Moore. Mr. Massey promised to shake up things in Columbia if elected. While he may not have done a whole lot of shaking in his first year, he has been a responsible representative for the constituents of District 25 and deserves an opportunity to serve for a full term.

The district which includes parts of Aiken County, Edgefield, Saluda and McCormick counties, is large. Representing the residents of that large a geographical area is not an easy matter, but Mr. Massey has launched his Senate tenure with a desire to keep his finger on the pulse of the citizens through his meetings around the district. He is also insistent on serving the conservative leanings of most of those within the district.

Mr. Massey has been a firm supporter of public education and vows to continue to work toward improving our school system. He worked last year to improve the woefully inadequate DUI law in the state. That DUI change was adopted, making the roads of the Palmetto State safer for all.

Making government transparent for the citizens is an important concept, and Mr. Massey has shown his interest in such a measure by supporting roll call votes in the Senate for bills that contain significant expenditures. It would be better yet for all bills to be held to the scrutiny of voice votes. South Carolina citizens send individuals like Mr. Massey to Columbia to represent them. It is not unreasonable for voters to be able to find how their representatives vote on all bills before both the Senate and the House.

Mr. Massey has shown himself to be a reasonable senator with a reasoned approach to making life better for the people of District 25 and for all the people of South Carolina. We endorse him for a full term so some of the entrenched ideas of Columbia can be truly shaken up for the benefit of the people of this state.

Comment Title: Lords Prayer
Maybe if more of you would concern yourselves with the LORDS Prayer then you wouldn't worry so much about gas and such. The Lord looks after his children.I will not vote for Anderson because of the lies about the Lords Prayer.

Comment Title: I Agree Poster
I hope he would make sure that rolly polly little weasel has nothing to do with future issues. My grandmother drove from NA to Aiken that week Kincannon had the satellites shut down and had to sit outside on her walker for 2 hours..she said she was embarrassed she had to sit out in public like that because she could not stand just because that butt kissing republican Kincannon was "concerned". If he was so concerned about votes, why didnt he get off his fat lawyer A$$ and drive grandma to polls and wait proxy in line for her...geesh what a schmuck...i was gonna vote Massey but if the republicans support this guy im going to change

Comment Title: Maybe???
Hmmmm....he does seem like he cares about his district - many town hall meetings, always available via his cell phone or email for constituents.....but is he tangled with people like the TERD (Todd "Concerned Citizen" Kincannon)??? TERD feeds off the teat of the state GOP, is a "attorney" for GOPers, a "Hump the Elephant Award Winner" (some kind of GOP A$$ kissers award), parlimentarian for SC GOP, and other state "pub-li-can" associations. This is the fat jowled baffoon is the one who tried to STOP our county absentee voting precincts - I hope Mr. Massey would disassociate himself with any people even connected to TERD Kincannon...also, people are losing jobs, healthcare, pensions---cant afford gas or groceries and these people are stuck on the Lords Prayer issue...GET OVER IT, help get jobs around here, get our kids insured, clean up our community, take care of your fellow citizens!!!
