Kristin Rebekah Redd of Columbia and Phillip Anthony Cothran of West Columbia were married March 8, 2008, in Boyce Chapel, First Baptist Church, Columbia. The bride was given in marriage by her father. The Rev. Wesley Derek Church officiated.
The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kent McClain Redd of Aiken. She is a granddaughter of Mrs. Ellen Poulus Poston and the late Marvin Burt Poston Sr. and Mr. Ellis Arnold Redd Sr. and the late Curtis McClain Redd.
The bridegroom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Edwards Cothran of West Columbia and Ms. Rebecca Lynn Cothran of Gaston. He is a grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Preston Gerald Young and Mr. and Mrs. Earnest Larry Smith and Mr. and Mrs. James Elijah Cothran.
Rachel Redd Church of Lexington, sister of the bride, was the matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Ashley Odell Wheelon of Charleston, Susan Dannelly Lacy of Aiken, Cynthia Faison of Boulder, Colo., Allison Blanks, Janine Chin and Jamie Rekers, all of Columbia, all friends of the bride.
Raymond E. Cothran of West Columbia, father of the groom, was the best man. Groomsmen were Joel Cothran of Savannah, Ga., brother of the groom; Joshua Cothran of West Columbia, cousin of the groom; Jonathan Brock of Lexington, friend of the groom; Trevor Brown of St. Peters, Miss., friend of the groom; Ryan Barns of Columbia, friend of the groom; and Michael Rausch of Sanford, N.C., friend of the groom.
Tyler Redd Jr. of Aiken, brother of the bride, was the junior groomsman.
Ashley Ard of West Columbia, sister of the groom, was the flower girl.
Following a reception in Ellis Hall at the church, the couple left for a wedding trip to Playa de Mejores, Mexico.
They will reside in Columbia.
The bride is a graduate of South Aiken High School. She is a 2004 graduate of the University of South Carolina with a degree in public relations. She is employed by Subscriberbase Inc. as a marketing manager.
The bridegroom is a graduate of White Knoll High School. He is attending the University of South Carolina pursuing a degree in exercise science. He is employed by Braxton Young LLC in Columbia.
