Entered into rest Saturday, July 12, 2008, at his residence, Mr. Shawn Allen Matlock, 39, of 67 Converse Drive, Aiken. Husband of Mrs. Kim Callahan Matlock and son of Mr. Ray and Mrs. Brenda M. Whitt, Jackson.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. at Hillcrest Baptist Church on Highway 278 between Williston and New Ellenton with the Rev. Marion Britton officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Cemetery. Mr. Matlock will be placed in the church one hour prior to services.

Mr. Matlock was a native and a lifelong resident of Aiken County. He was employed by Reiter AGY Aiken plant as a licensed mechanic and was a former employee of Procter & Gamble in Augusta as a mechanic for 10 years. He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Williston.

Additional survivors include one son, Christopher Allen Matlock of Aiken; two daughters, Kristin Nicole and Morgan Dakota Matlock, both of Aiken; his mother and father of Jackson; a stepfather, Jessie Rollison of Waynesboro, Ga.; two brothers, Ray Whitt Jr. of Summerville and Dallas Whitt of Jackson; and three sisters, Tamara Matlock of Davenport, Iowa, Crystal Rollison of New Ellenton and Rayette Godson of Aiken.

Mr. Matlock was predeceased by his grandparents, Elmer D. and Catherine P. Matlock; and two aunts, Donna Holmes and Wanda Minick.

Pallbearers will be Michael Matlock, Eddie Whaley, Chris Godson, Gregory Mullins, William Smith and Matthew McDaniel.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the children in care of Mrs. Rayette Godson, 165 Wood Trace Drive, Warrenville, SC 29851.

A visitation with the family will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. this evening, Wednesday, July 16, 2008, at Cole Funeral Home & Cremation Service Inc., 1544 University Parkway (118 Bypass) Aiken, SC 29801. 648-7175.
