AIKEN – A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Michael A. Polochko will be celebrated at Holy Family Church in Latrobe, Pa., on Wednesday. Interment will follow at Unity Cemetery in Latrobe.  A memorial service and gathering is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 2, beginning at 6 p.m. at Woodside Plantation Clubhouse in Aiken.  Memorial donations may be made to  “Kyle’s Autism Challenge Fund, C/O Southern Bank & Trust, 1001 Pine Log Road, Aiken, SC 29803. George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Ave. S.W. is assisting the family.  Mr. Polochko, 55, of Aiken, died Saturday, July 12, 2008, at University Hospital in Augusta.Born in Latrobe, Pa., he was the son of Michael and Mary Semanchek Polochko. He  had been a manager at the Savannah River National Laboratory since moving to Aiken in 1989.  A devoted husband and father, Mike was also an outdoorsman, hunter, golfer and a good friend to many. He was a communicant of St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church in Aiken and a member of the Men’s Golf Association of Woodside Plantation.Mike is survived by his wife of 23 years, Laurie Hollick Polochko of Aiken; a daughter, Emery Polochko of Aiken; his parents; two sisters, Elaine (Bob) Rogers of Latrobe, Pa., and Marilyn (Chuck) Thompson of Somerset, Pa.; four sisters-in-law, Renee (Ernie) McCleary of New Alexandria, Pa., Michele (Jim) Donofrio of Venetia, Pa., Elaine (Kip) DeGlau of Latrobe, Pa., and DeAnn (Wayne) Weaver of Morgantown, W.Va.; and a brother-in-law, Ed (Mayra) Hollick of Ligonier, Pa.
