Polly Cato Hartley
Mrs. Polly Cato Hartley, 80, died Friday, June 13, 2008, at University Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, June 15, 2008, at Charles Wesley United Methodist Church. Reverend Jim Bennett will officiate. Interment will follow in Ridge Spring Cemetery, Ridge Spring.
Pallbearers will be Stephen Clarke, Brett Clarke, Bruce Blakey, Lewie Hartley Jr., Neil Cato, Wingo Johnson, Courtney Johnson, Danny Johnson and Geof Johnson.
Mrs. Hartley was born in Monetta, a daughter of the late Legare and Charlotte Sox Cato. A resident of Aiken since 1954, Mrs. Hartley was a teacher in the Aiken County School System. Her strong faith enabled her to fight the battle of cancer for 17 years. Her family and friends were the joy of her life.¬
Survivors include her two daughters, Linda (Ken) Clarke, Aiken and Nancy Blakey of Irmo; three grandchildren, Stephen (Maggie) Clarke, Brett Clarke and Bruce Blakey; a great-granddaughter, Madison Clarke; a sister, Alma Johnson of Jacksonville, Fla.; and a brother, Legare Cato Jr. of Cayce.
In addition to her parents, her husband, Sidney Hartley, and a grandson, Sidney Thomas Blakey, preceded her in death.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Epworth Children's Home, P.O. Box 50466, Columbia, SC 29250, to the University Health Care Fund (a foundation that pays for health insurance for cancer patients who have lost their jobs), 2100 Central Ave., Suite D1, Augusta, GA 30904, or to Charles Wesley United Methodist Church, 3510 Trolley Line Road, Aiken, SC 29801.

Brenda Parsons
AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Entered into rest Friday, June 13, 2008, Mrs. Brenda Parsons, 60, of Augusta, Ga., beloved wife of the late Pharis Fredrick "Freddie" Parsons and daughter of the late Ossie and Annie Mae Kennedy Jones.
Born in and a resident of Augusta for most of her life, she was a homemaker. Brenda was a member of Little Horse Creek Baptist Church and enjoyed reading and watching movies.
Family members include a daughter, Jennifer Maddox (James) of Augusta; sister, Eleanor Widener of Evans, Ga.; and a granddaughter, Kelli Maddox of Augusta.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 16, 2008, at 11 a.m. at Hatcher Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Langley, with Pastor John Bolin officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Langley. Pallbearers will be Terry Lanier, Dennis Black, Carl Green, Chris Walden, Randall Johnson and Terry Black.

Betty Hall Rogers
WEST COLUMBIA -- Completed life's journey and entered into rest on Thursday, June 12, 2008, Betty Hall Rogers, age 73, of West Columbia, wife of the late Danny Rogers and daughter of the late Eulie A. Hall Sr. and the late Elizabeth Padgett. She is survived by her stepmother, Dora Butler of Aiken; daughters, Dale McRae of Belvedere and Diane Sullivan of Ridge Spring; three brothers, five sisters, six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was born in Aiken, but has been a resident of West Columbia for 50 years. She was a retired cosmetologist. She was of the Lutheran faith. She will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched, but there is a consolation in knowing that she is in a better place with no more pain or sorrow. A graveside service will be conducted Monday, June 16, 2008, at 2 p.m. at the Graniteville Cemetery in Graniteville, with Rev. Barry Antley officiating. The pallbearers will be Keifer Tuberville, Alvin Mack Sr., Jim Sullivan, Russell Hallman, Michael Hallman and Alvin Mack Jr. The family will receive friends at Napier Funeral Home on Monday, from noon until 1:45 p.m., at which time the funeral procession will be leaving to go to the Cemetery for the service. Bertha M. Johnson Williams
In God's care while we wait to meet you again. Mrs. Bertha M. Johnson Williams, 66 years of age and a former resident of 839 Lincoln Ave., Aiken, quietly departed this life on Thursday, June 12, 2008, at the Amara Health & Rehab Center, Augusta, Ga.
The funeral arrangements are incomplete.
The family will be receiving at the residence of her daughter, Vivian Humphrey (Yancey), 215 Whitehall Road (Barclay Estates), North Augusta, and at the residence of her mother, Florine Johnson, 223 Columbia Ave., Aiken.

Funeral services for Mrs. Izola Jenkins Williams, age 87, formerly of 258 Hutto Pond Road, who passed away Thursday, June 12, 2008, will be held 1:30 p.m. Monday, June 16, 2008, at Magnolia Baptist Church with Rev. Charles M. Simpkins officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Izola Jenkins Williams was born Oct. 15, 1920, in Ward. She departed her life on June 12, 2008. She was the oldest daughter of the late Deacon Allen and the late Deaconess Rhodie Hopkins Jenkins.
She attended the public schools in Ridge Spring.
Izola was united in holy matrimony to Mr. Grady Williams on Sept. 18, 1943. They were blessed with three daughters and a son.
She gave her life to Christ as a youth at the Pine Hill Baptist Church in Johnston. She later affiliated with the Magnolia Baptist Church, Aiken, to be with her husband and children.
She was a domestic engineer and homemaker. She was a member of the Magnolia Baptist Church Senior Choir, Mother of the Church, deaconess and she worked tirelessly in the Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. She devoted her life to her family.
Two brothers and four sisters preceded her in death.
Izola's precious memories are shared by her family consisting of her devoted husband, Mr. Grady Williams of Aiken; three dedicated daughters, Mrs. Betty (Charles) Morgan of Aiken, Mrs. Patricia (Rev. Rufus) Smith, Mrs. Joyce (David) Butler of AIken; a precious son, Mr. Milton Williams of Augusta, Ga.; nine precious grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; a lovely sister, Mrs. Hattie Lee Hall of Aiken and a brother, Mr. Talmadge (Ruth) Jenkins Sr. of Aiken; two sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Mrs. Williams will lie in state at the church on Monday from 12:30 p.m. until the hour of service.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 7 to 8 p.m.
Friends may call at the residence of the daughters, Joyce (David) Butler, 2540 Golden Bridge Court, Aiken, or Betty (Charles) Morgan, 266 Hutto Pond Road, Aiken or at Jackson-Brooks Funeral Home beginning 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 15, 2008.
