Bath man arrested for drug possession
The Aiken County Sheriff's Office arrested a Bath man after investigators say they found marijuana during a search on Thursday at his Dunbar Court home.
Ronnie L. Wilder, 32, of the 200 block of Dunbar Court, is charged with two counts of distribution of marijuana, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession with intent to distribute marijuana within a half-mile of a school and distribution of cocaine.
As a result of an undercover investigation, narcotics investigators and SWAT deputies, at about 5 a.m., served a search warrant at the home.
They seized nearly a quarter pound of marijuana, a handgun and more than $1,000, Aiken County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Lt. Michael Frank said.
Wilder is being held at the Aiken County detention center.
Buckle up, S.C. focuses on safety
The S.C. Department of Public Safety is joined local law enforcement agencies and health advocates Friday to emphasize the public health aspect of traffic safety as it launched the annual safety belt awareness campaign.
The Buckle Up, South Carolina mobilization mirrors a multilayered national initiative from May 19 to June 1 that includes education and enforcement.
The goal of the statewide campaign is to increase safety belt usage by 5 percent up to 79.5 percent, according to the S.C. Highway Patrol.
