Robert Seward "Bob" Johnson

WINDSOR -- Funeral services for Robert Seward "Bob" Johnson, 82, were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 8, at Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston, with burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Graniteville, S.C. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Elko Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 277, Elko, SC 29826. Mr. Johnson died on Monday, May 5, 2008.
Born in Wellsville, Ohio, he was a son of the late David P. Johnson and Josephine Coleman Johnson. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served during WWII; he retired from E.I. Dupont at SRS after more than 30 years of service; owned and operated Johnson's Nursery and Greenhouses; was founding commissioner of the Windsor Volunteer Fire Department; was an attendant for Aiken County Solid Waste Recycle Center for more than eight years; and was a member of Elko Baptist Church. Mr. Johnson was married to the late Helen Geneva Long Johnson.
Survivors include daughters Jean and Sammy Croft of Williston, S.C., C.J. Sue Livingston of Hendersonville, N.C. and Joy Lynn Paradise of Manchester, N.H.; sons Roger S. and Sybil Johnson of Lithia Springs, Ga. and William L. and Joanne Johnson of Bamberg, S.C.; brother Daniel and Ruby Johnson of Florida; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, John Johnson, grandson Douglas C. Hodges Jr. and a great-grandson, Dillon Johnson.
