A little something for all women can be found at Vinya's, a new women's boutique on Laurens Street, said co-owner Carol Redd.
The store celebrated its grand opening on Thursday with members of the Greater Aiken Chamber of Commerce.
Carol said the boutique is named after her mother-in-law, Jewelle Bradley-Crowley, whose middle name is LaVania. Bradley-Crowley, as well as Carol's husband, Tim Redd, co-own the store.
The boutique carries a variety of sizes and styles. The store's merchandise includes dresses, casual wear and undergarments.
At the grand opening, Mayor Fred Cavanaugh thanked the owners for having the confidence to operate a business within the City of Aiken.
Greater Aiken Chamber of Commerce president and CEO J. David Jameson also thanked the owners as he welcomed them as the Chamber's newest members.
"We just want to help keep downtown vibrant," Carol Redd said of one of the reasons her family decided to open the boutique.
Bradley-Crowley said she hope to help dress "all the women in Aiken sizes 0-18." Redd encourages shoppers to come in this week to check out the boutique's selection of dresses, which she said will be perfect for Saturday's Spring Steeplechase.
The store will offer special early hours Saturday from 8:30 a.m. until noon to accommodate those in search for something to wear to the event.
Redd said her family decided to open the store so that it can later be run by her daughter Hillary, who is currently studying retail marketing in at Johnson & Wales University in Charlotte.
Vinya's is open Monday through Friday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Redd encourages local residents to experience one of downtown's newest stores.
"We hope everyone comes in to shop," she said.
