Police have arrested a third suspect in connection to the disappearance of Jamilla "Millie" Shanaé Smith.

Clyde James Hendley, 46, of Bath was taken into custody Thursday morning after investigators served a warrant at his home on Front Street, according to a media release from the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office.

Hendley is facing the charge of accessory after the fact to murder and is the third person charged in connection to the missing persons case. Thirty-year-old Smith has been missing since December 2023.

Police have not located her body.

Brandon Hampton Jr., 34, of Augusta turned himself into police April 19 and is facing the charge of accessory after the fact to murder. Smith’s ex-boyfriend, 34-year-old Daniel Gabriel Harmon, has been in the custody of police since Dec. 5 following a standoff with police at a house on Carpenterville Road in North Augusta.

Harmon has been charged with murder and kidnapping in Smith’s disappearance. He also faces second-degree domestic violence and drug charges.

According to an Aiken County arrest warrant, Hendley assisted Harmon in helping him to dispose of Smith's body and dispose of physical evidence from the vehicle that was used to transport her body. The warrant said the incident took place at an address in the 150 block of Front Street in Bath.

Hendley was arrested and charged with arson in 2009, according to the Aiken Standard.
