A plan to continue the development of the Clearwater Preserve neighborhood in the Graniteville is moving forward.

The Aiken County Planning Commission on April 18 approved, with contingencies, the preliminary plat (layout) for Section 2 of the subdivision.

The vote was 5-0.

The applicant was Beazley Development Co. Inc., which is based in Evans, Georgia.

Southern Partners Inc. of Augusta is providing engineering services for the project.

There will be 105 lots on 42.4 acres.

Townhomes and patio homes will be constructed on the property.

Planning Commission chairman Liz Stewart didn’t vote on the matter because action on her part wasn’t needed to break a tie.

The panel approved the preliminary plat with contingencies because county staff’s review of the project had compliance questions about ponds on the land and the distance between buildings.

The address for the office at the Clearwater Preserve site is 4035 Glasgow Pass.
