Aiken Public Safety officers are on the scene of a shooting at the Pace's Run apartments. 

Aiken Department of Public Safety officers are looking for more information about a shooting that happened Thursday morning. 

Officers learned of the shooting at approximately 10:30 a.m. when a Black male arrived at Department of Public Safety headquarters with a gunshot wound to the leg, Lt. Jason Griffin said in a news release. 

Investigators determined the shooting took place in the 800 block of Brandt Court which is in the Pace's Run apartment complex, Griffin added.

Pace's Run is across the street from the Department of Public Safety headquarters. 

He added the Black male was transported to an area hospital for treatment. 

Officers, however, don't have any additional information about the shooting, Griffin said. 

"Information from the community is vital to helping with investigations," he added. "Anyone with information about this shooting incident is urged to contact the Aiken Department of Public Safety at 803-642-7620 or submit an anonymous tip at CrimeTip City of Aiken, SC Government (cityofaikensc.gov)."
